Ceramica is a distributor leading the migration from the traditional tile and design districts to the Palm Grove area within the Biscayne-corridor renovation, and is introducing new innovations in the field of international glass tile design. The company offers a variety of decorative glass tiles for residential and commercial properties including architectural glass, limestone, marble, travertine, onyx, mosaics, decorative elements, porcelain, terracotta, etc... Design Latitudes was retained to design and produce a direct mail promotion program with a hip, MIMO feel, highlighting new glass-tile product lines targeted to architects, builders and interior designers: Geology Collection Liquid Glass Grip Collection We began the program by creating a series of full-bleed digital photographs of the tiles but soon realized that the refraction of light off the multiple translucent surfaces of the glass was causing an extreme shift in color and detail rendition. Our solution was to scan each tile on our desktop scanner which gave us the optimum results we were seeking. Throughout much of the 20th century, glass tile fell out of favor in interior design, as artists and architects opted for more modern, synthesized materials. The turn of the 21st century has seen yet another rise in glass-tile and mosaic work. Innovations in manufacturing and technology have made glass tiles a desirable surface option for the home or office, while the ever-present versatility of glass tile allows the material to be used with traditional and modern design alike. |
